Executions in Iran have surged, as the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to crackdown on anti-regime protests. At least 142 protesters were executed in May – the largest amount of executions in Iran since 2015.
Marches in support of protesters in Iran and the end of the regime have been held every Saturday in Montreal since the death of Zhina Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman.
Amini died in hospital following detention by Iran’s morality police, who inflicted violence on Amini after identifying her for improperly wearing a hijab.
