On June 22, Montrealers marched through Parc-Ex in protest of Bill PL31. If passed, the bill would put an end to lease transfers, one of few tools that allow tenants to prevent landlords from massive rent hikes. The passing of this bill would disproportionately affect marginalized groups who rely on lease transfers to access affordable housing.
